By air
Airport Brno-Turany is accessible by direct flights from London, Moscow, and Eindhoven. Other nearby airports with relatively fast connection by train or bus are in Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague.
Train
The Brno main station is situated in the city centre. Trains between Prague and Brno operate at 1-hour intervals. Brno is also easily accessible by direct trains from Vienna, Bratislava, Berlin and Budapest, which operate several times a day. Please refer to electronic timetables to find the optimal connection. English and German language versions are also available (see bottom right corner of the search form).
Bus
The Brno bus station "UAN Zvonarka" is situated nearby the city centre and is accessible from most of the Central European capitals. Please refer to electronic timetables for optimal connections
Car
Brno has highway connection with Prague (route D1, approx. 200 km) and Bratislava (route D2, approx. 120 km). From Vienna, use the routes A5, B7 (Austria), and 52 (Czech Republic).
Travelling within the Brno city
We recommend using a taxi; journey from the airport takes 20 minutes and from the train station up to 5 minutes. If you prefer public transport, then take bus no. 76 from the airport to the main railway station and then tram no. 4 (towards Masarykova čtvrť); get off at Náměstí Svobody (the second stop) and go through the passage next to Komerční banka. If you use tram numbers 12 or 13 (towards Technologický Park), get off at the stop Šilingrovo náměstí (the second stop) and then go up the Husova street towards the city.
If you intend to use public transport for your journey to the conference venue or city centre, please find a suitable connection at electronic timetables. English and German language versions are also available (see bottom right corner of the search form).
One-way ticket costs 25 CZK (approx. 1 Euro).
Weather
Czech Republic has temperate climate. In April, the weather is usually moderately warm and daily temperatures usually fluctuate between 15-20 °C.
